Under the South-South Experience Exchange project the ODTA team supports the Macedonian government in its endeavor to provide better access to data and information from state institutions to the citizens and businesses. The project focus is twofold as on one hand the Macedonian government benefits from direct technical assistance from the ODTA team and on the other hand from southern experiences with open data. As part of the efforts in providing direct technical assistance, the ODTA team helped the Macedonian government to join the Open Government Partnership, prepare an Open Government Action Plan, raise awareness, organize training, and build a coalition with citizens and civil society.  The Open data initiative consisted providing expert guidance to the Macedonian government on designing and launching the Open Data program and crowd sourcing what Macedonia can do. As part of this process the ODTA arranged the Macedonian officials to meet with experts form the Open Data initiatives from Moldova and Brazil through video conferences. The Macedonian delegation also visited Brazil during the Open Government partnership summit.
